About My Site
This began as a strictly music chart-based site on Yahoo! Geocities, but in 2007, I expanded it into somewhat more of a Christian portal. Now, not only may you view my charts, you may also read some details about me and link to artist pages, lyrics, and a variety of general and Christian external links. I also share samples of the music I enjoy, through my profile on imeem.
Beta Details
Currently, I consider this site in beta form. More specifically, I have nearly all of my content in place (so far except for more I want to add in the Music section). However, I'm sure some work still remains to be done "under the hood", with the code that drives the site. Over time, I especially want to make sure my CSS and XSL, the code that styles my pages, are all optimized for efficient site display and caching. That hasn't been easy to accomplish, though, especially given how I make different views of my site available (through the Site Preferences) and how I have my site serve different CSS to different browsers, to try to overcome rendering differences. Plus, most of what I know about Web design, I've learned on my own, so, I consider myself no total expert just yet.
I've tried valiantly to make my site and blog work as I think it should, but, I'm not perfect. I would greatly appreciate some feedback/help. Those browsing the site (with fairly recent Web browsers), does anything look flagrantly wrong? Or a little but noticeably off? Or does everything look good? Those curious enough to peek around in my underlying code, do you have any suggestions for improvement? I'm welcome for any feedback at all...this is my first serious, huge attempt at maintaining a public Web site, and I want it to be the best it could be.
Other Technical Details
- I have tested the site for compatibility with:
- Firefox (which means it should also be similarly compatible with modern versions of other browsers, such as Mozilla Suite, Netscape, K-Meleon [Windows], Camino [Mac], Galeon [Linux/UNIX], and Epiphany [Linux/UNIX], since they're all based on the same rendering engine as Firefox's)
- Opera
- Safari (which means it should also be similarly compatible with Konqueror (Linux/UNIX)
- Internet Explorer
- Lynx
- Additional browser compatibility details, such as specific browser versions I tested, the versions I officially support, and any display errors or differences I noted
- For details about software, scripts, and other resources I used during the making of my site, please visit the site credits section of my general external links.

About My Slogan
"Crossing Music, Faith, God and Life" has two key meanings, thanks to the word "Crossing". The fact that I originally considered the word "Intersecting" should make one of the slogan's meanings instantly clear. This site is my little outlet on the Web, bringing together my experiences of music, faith, God, and life. But what about the other meaning? It involves a less widely used meaning of "crossing", which according to dictionary.com, means to make the sign of the cross (of Crucifixion) upon or over something, as in devotion. Music, faith, and life are devotional to me—I love offering them in worship and devotion to God.
About Me
Since 2004, I've been maintaining a site of my music charts (first on Yahoo! Geocities), but I was too shy at first to introduce myself as a person. However, now I will introduce myself, first in the form of some quick statistics and then in longer writings, linked to at the end.
- Name: Anthony Martinez
- Age: 20
- Location: USA
- Some Favorite Artsits/Bands: Michael W. Smith, Skillet, Point Of Grace, Avalon, ApologetiX, BarlowGirl, dc Talk, Mark Schultz, Natalie Grant
- Music Styles I Like (Mainly Within The Christian Genre): Pop, Adult Contemporary, Rock, Rap, R&B/Gospel, Country, Jazz, New Age. I think I can listen to just about anything, except some of the annoyingly hard rock/metal in where the singers scream so loud as to be difficult to understand.
- A few fun random, but probably overall unimportant pieces of trivia:
- Favorite Food Types: Italian and Mexican
- Favorite TV Shows: CSI and Forensic Files
- I might be addicted to... Chocolate! Okay, I'm not seriously addicted to it, but I sure love it
- Favorite Video Games: These are probably not widely familiar, but, oh well—Tales Of Symphonia for the Nintendo GameCube and Tetris Attack for the Super Nintendo (some things just never bore me even after many years :-) (smile)
- My Denomination: None (or nondenominational). In the end, our denomination does not matter, and none are necessarily closer to truth than others, anyway. Having a relationship with God and faithfully serving the Body of Christ is infinitely more important than the set of beliefs we subscribe to by committing to a denomination.
- Favorite Books: Very hard to pick, but I think I'll go with Everybody's Normal Till You Get To Know Them, by John Ortberg, and anything written by Lee Strobel, such as The Case For Christ. Also, Praying For My Life, by Marion Bond West, is one of my top favorites, as is the eye-opening We Need Each Other, by Guy Greenfield. That one is from the 1980s, though, and is out of print now, but I feel it's well worth tracking down.
- Glimpses Of God Available... Pretty much anywhere, as long as we keep our minds open. We could even find Him in unexpected places such as a video game, which happened to me while playing Tales Of Symphonia
- My Interests (Randomly Assorted): God, Web page design/maintenance, computers, listening to music, forensics, psychology, reading, writing, friends
- Sections Of Longer Reading, On Separate Pages:
Contact / Site Feedback
Please feel free to E-mail me with any comments, feedback, praise, or constructive criticism, for example, or even a simple hello. However, please be sure to remove extra spaces in the address and the "-notospam". I will not tolerate any spam at all; whoever spams me, I will do anything in my power to try to have his or her address(es) banned and/or blacklisted.
Instead of E-mailing me, you may fill out the feedback form. To fill out the form requires that images be enabled. The last step of filling out the form asks for text displayed in an image, a step that deters automated spam.
